Over the last decade, Latana's talent and creativity as a fine arts photographer has been the highlight of many art galleries, as well as one-man-show exhibits in New York, Paris and Los Angeles.

For many years, Latana has been fascinated by the exotic and languid beauty of Tahiti and its people.
Her unique sensitivity and her eye for the subtleties of human emotions can be felt in these candid and wonderful portraits of Tahitian women in their natural and unencumberd beauty.
In this series, titled "Les Vahines" (women), Latana depicts the women as they are now; yet one senses that things have remained unchanged since the time of Gaugin. As it was then, the women are dressed in colorful pareos wearing flowers in their long hair. Walking or sitting languidly, as if time stands still. In Tahiti, no one hurries. But there is always time for talking, laughing and loving. This is what makes French Polynesia so special. And this is what Latana captures so beautifully in her images.
