Hello!
We are planing to visit some island near Tahiti. We are looking for some cheaper accomodation. Does anyone know some cheap hostel or something similar. Is it allowed to tent here? I know that my question could seem funny but we can't afford the luxury hotels.

Also, try posting this message on Lonely Planet's Thorn Tree message board. That site caters more to budget travelers and you are somewhat more likely to get additional replies.

Thanks a lot for the information!
As we orginize our tour every day new questions come up. We would like to have our baggages in safe and we think that it wouldn't be a good idea to leave our bags and cameras in the tent. So that means that we need some "normal" accomodation. I hope I'll get some. I can't believe that once I could get there. What island do You suggest? We thought about Huahine. Has anybody been there?
